For a textbook English farce, begin with a cast of characters that includes a parish vicar, a ditsy maid, a nosy spinster, a former actress, a cheeky soldier, a visiting bishop, a short-tempered sergeant, a German prisoner of war on the run and a sedate parson aghast at all the goings-on.

Add in some very unlikely situations, misunderstandings, mistaken identities, a bottle of sherry and some witty dialogue — and you have the no-holds-barred hilarity of the comedy play “See How They Run.” It’s a play guaranteed to laugh away the Winter (and Spring!) blues!
