Elderly and disabled people will be able to live in their own homes for longer thanks to over €1million in grant aid.
The grants have been welcomed in the Cashel area by Cllr Eoghan Lawrence.
Cllr Lawrence explained that the housing adaptation grants will be for older people and people with a disability living in private houses.
South Tipp County Council will receive an allocation of €1,100,000 and it is hoped that this will be increased with another allocation later in the year.
Grants are available to eligible applicants to: carry out necessary adaptations to homes to meet the special needs of people with disabilities; improve conditions of older peoples’ homes and assist with adaptations to address age related mobility problems.“These grants are vital as they help those most in need of assistance and allow them to continue living in their own homes and communities,” said Cllr Lawrence
