Farming at Ballinurra, Carrick-on-Suir, their data as shown attached will appear in this paper on a regular basis. The purpose of the project is to make relevant farm information from the monitor farm available dairy farmers in the region to assist on decision making on farms.

The Lanigans have very kindly agreed to participate in the monitor farm programme and take over from Liam Tobin of Kilnoracy, Kilsheelan, who has been very generous with his time and information over the past three years.

A Farm Walk will take place on the Ballinurra farm later in the year.

The Lanigans are farming 108ha approximately.

The Milking Platform comprises of 40ha. 26 of this is on the home block with a further 14ha zero grazed and fed at home.

They will milk approximately 100 cows in 2012.

There is also a substantial beef enterprise on this farm.
