House building projects fall by 24%

The number of new housing projects commencing in Co. Tipperary has continued to drop dramatically this year as have the number of planning applications, a new survey reveals.

The number of new housing projects commencing in Co. Tipperary has continued to drop dramatically this year as have the number of planning applications, a new survey reveals.

The latest National Housing Construction Index shows there were 78 housing construction commencements in the county between January and June. This was a 24 per cent decrease on the same period last year when 102 projects were started.

Planning applications made in Co. Tipperary, meanwhile, have decreased by 17% from 228 in January to June 2012, to 190 in the same period in 2013.
