Ireland and New Zeland stars support Cashel charity rugby match

International rugby stars Ronan O’Gara and New Zealand’s Dougie Howlett will be among the cheering crowds when Tipp man Denis Leamy leads his team out against a Michael Lynagh selection for a rugby game that is being held to raise money for two local charities.

On Saturday next, May 12m at 2 pm Cashel Rugby Club is hosting a Charity Rugby Match in aid of two worthy local charities, St. Patrick’s Hospital, Cashel and The End of Life Committee at South Tipperary General Hospital fund.

The match itself will be played between “The Tipperary Tigers” and “The Michael Lynagh Select”.

The Tipperary Tigers are a selection of players from the Cashel, Clanwilliam, Clonmel, Fethard and Kilfeacle rugby clubs and are coached by Cashel native and 57 times Irish international flanker Denis Leamy. A number of former Munster, Irish and International players will be part of The Michael Lynagh Select team.

A big attraction is a kicking competition at half time, where for €E2 a go, members of the public can compete against the stars!

The entrance fee of €E10 will go towards completing a sensory garden at St. Patrick’s Hospital Cashel and The End of Life Committee at South Tipperary General Hospital fund.
