South Tipp and Cashel Town plans to be delayed

The review of the South Tipperary County and Cashel Town development plans is to be delayed for two years.

The review of the South Tipperary County and Cashel Town development plans is to be delayed for two years.

This is due to the unification of north and south Tipperary county councils and abolition of town councils next year.

Both developments plan were due to be reviewed this year.

However legislation has been introduced to extend their lifetime until 2015.

South Tipperary Co. Council’s elected members were informed of the extension of the lifetime of the two development plans at their October meeting.

Fine Gael Cllr Liam Ahearne told the meeting the extension to the development plans made a lot of sense.

Under recent legislation, north and south Tipperary are to become one unified County Council while towns councils will be abolished.
