Merck, Sharp and Dohme (MSD) in Ballydine has recognised the contribution of 26 of its employees for their voluntary work in the community, as part of MSD’s participation with Junior Achievement Ireland.

The Junior Achievement programme is an initiative whereby volunteers from local businesses partner with schools to encourage students to remain in education, to develop a culture of enterprise and to help prepare students for the working world. The MSD volunteers delivered the programmes to over 650 students from 12 schools in Clonmel and surrounding areas.

David O’Connell, General Manager, MSD in Ballydine, thanked the volunteers for making the first year of the site’s participation in the programme a great success and he presented them with their certificates. “I am blown away by the huge impact that the programme is having on the students, our volunteers and the local community”, he said.
