Shoppers encouraged to show their love for Clonmel

Clonmel Chamber of Commerce launched their latest shop local campaign this week to encourage consumers to support local jobs. The ‘Love Clonmel?….show your love for local jobs’ promotion will run between January 16th and February 19th and has a Valentines theme. This follows on from the highly visible and successful Christmas campaign that was widely praised by the business community. The new campaign is just the first that the Chamber plans to stage this year.

“We have decided to highlight the importance of people’s spending decisions all year round. We believe that our Christmas campaign did have an impact and in 2012 we will continue to drive home the point that by shopping locally people are supporting over 1,000 local jobs. Throughout the year we plan to launch campaigns with differing themes. Now, more than ever, consumers have the ability to shape their local economy by shopping locally. We in the Chamber constantly hear praise for the retail choice in the town from other Chambers throughout Ireland and if we, as a town, want to maintain that choice then we have to support it” said Chamber President, Tina Mulhearne.

From now until the middle of February consumers will see the distinctive pink posters in shop windows throughout the town. Businesses seeking additional posters or who wish to get behind the campaign and place posters in their windows should contact Clonmel Chamber on 052-6126500.
