Minister of State Tom Hayes has welcomed figures which show that the Rock of Cashel, continues to be one of the biggest tourist attractions in the country.
Figures from the OPW show that 195,100 people visited the site from January 1 to August 25 of 2013. Those figures are in line with 2012 figures, when 195,104 people visited the Rock during the same period.
Minister Hayes said: “The figures show that the Rock of Cashel continues to attract visitors from all over the world. The Rock remains the most visited heritage site in Ireland. The town of Cashel benefits hugely from the influx of tourists to the town every day, generating millions of euro for the local economy.”
