Tipp man is new Dairy Council chairman

The newly elected Chairman of The National Dairy Council is Jackie Cahill from Thurles, and the new NDC Vice-Chairman is Stephen Shorten from Courtleigh, Newcestown, Co. Cork.

The newly elected Chairman of The National Dairy Council is Jackie Cahill from Thurles, and the new NDC Vice-Chairman is Stephen Shorten from Courtleigh, Newcestown, Co. Cork.

Jackie Cahill is a dairy and beef farmer who has been a member of the NDC Board for five and a half years. He is on the Board of the Irish Dairy Board and Bord Bia and is due to retire as President of ICMSA in December 2011.

Stephen Shorten, a dairy and tillage farmer from West Cork, has represented Bandon Co-op on the Board of the NDC for the past 2 years.

Outgoing Chairman Dominic Cronin, from Boherbue, Co Cork, remains on the Board of the NDC; whilst outgoing Vice-Chairman Henry Corbally from Kilmainhamwood, Co Meath has retired from the NDC Board, with his co-op, Glanbia, now represented on the NDC Board by John Murphy from Wexford.
