Tipperary man Dr. Michael Casey has been appointed to the Board of the British and Irish Trading Alliance.

Dr. Casey, Fellow Of The State, explained at a formal reception in the British Embassy that B.I.T.A. is a not-for-profit organisation. He said it is intended that its networking and trading events will bring Irish and British business people together to develop new friendships and business opportunities.

“Our mission, as I perceive it, is to facilitate our members in growing business relationships that will promote and strengthen trade, in all of its varying forms, between our two countries”, he remarked.

Dr. Casey also spoke glowingly of the cultural and entrepreneurial achievements of the late Tony Ryan, Vincent O’Brien and one of his patrons, racehorse breeder/property developer, John Magnier (all of Tipperary).
