There was good news for Cahir this week with an announcement from Fáilte Ireland that the town’s tourist office has reopened for the summer.
Cahir tourist office reopened yesterday (Tuesday) and will now be open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.15pm.
It is due to stay open until mid-October, after the high summer season.
The news has been welcomed by local TD, Mattie McGrath, who last week expressed his strong concern that the office might not reopen.
“It is vitally important that small local businesses that depend on tourism are supported and I welcome the fact that they have agreed to re-open for this tourist season,” said Deputy McGrath.
“The office is still at risk for the future and I will continue to put the case forward for the need for more supports for tourism in Tipperary, but in the interim it is a welcome decision to open the office for the current season,” concluded Deputy McGrath
