Sunday May 5 sees the fourth running of the Clonmel Vintage & Classic Car Show at the fantastic location of Powerstown Park Racecourse.
Since its formation in 2010, the club to date has raised more the €64,000 for local charities with this event in particular proving a huge success. Once again, the organisers are determined to provide a good day out for all the family, as well as enthusiasts of vintage and classic machinery.
This year the club have nominated the following four charities, Heartsave, Alzheimer’s, Cystic Fibrosis and Place 4U. The event itself is primarily a static display of vintage cars, tractors, fire engines, trucks etc, from the early 1900s to the 1970s. This year there will be a special display from the Irish Morris Minor Club of Ireland celebrating 30 years of the Club and 100 years of Morris cars along with a special display of D.K.W. cars.
The show also presents the opportunity for those attending to win their very own vintage car, a 1966 Hillman Imp in excellent roadworthy condition. The draw will take place on the day.
The static show will be preceded by a vintage run on the Saturday from Hotel Minella to Lismore. Cars will be departing at 11am approx and returning to the hotel later that day where the Club will hold a dinner dance later that evening.
