Fine Gael T.D. Tom Hayes has welcomed the opening of the Cordis Career Centre by Johnson and Johnson. The Career Centre will provide the employees of Cordis with extensive career transition programmes and one to one career coaching by experts from CareerVision.ie.

“This is a welcome move by Johnson and Johnson, as this Centre will provide the employees with skills development programmes; enterprise development and start your own business support which many of the employees require to seek new employment or start their own businesses.”

“The most important function of the Centre will be to provide a meeting point for employees to help them stay connected and feel supported. Following my recent visit to the Centre I must commend the employees for their upbeat attitude during this difficult time for them personally. These are highly skilled people and I hope that they will be able to secure future employment before operations cease at the Cordis plant.”

“We were all devastated by the news that Johnson and Johnson are to close the plant, but they must be commended for setting up this Centre which will be in place until March 2012, it has a full time Career Centre Manager, Internet, telephone and printing access, training rooms and is open 8.30am to 4.30pm each week day.”
