The 2011/2012 Local Training Initiative group launched their Accomplishment Journal in Cashel Library on Monday, June 11.
The launch was very well attended with members of Spafield Family Resource Centres board of management, John Murphy, a representative from FÁS who took time out from his busy schedule to be there, tutors, TDs, family, friends and many more.
The launch integrated several groups from the centre in Spafield with work from the Back to Education Initiative and two different community groups on display also.
The Accomplishment Journal was created to bring attention to the work completed by the Local Training Initiative participants this year. Jackie Kennedy and Cher Quinlan decided after working closely with this group that a celebration of their hard work was imperative.
Each participant worked extremely hard during this course and this Accomplishment Journal highlights all that the LTI course embraces. As tutors in the field of life skills and art they worked closely with the participants to link their creative abilities with their personal experiences in order to enhance academic subjects, teamwork skills and community integration.
The journal comprises of each participants journey through the LTI course and each participant has evolved into a deserving individual filled with positivity, determination, ambition and clear direction.
Sincerest thanks to all who attended the launch, to the staff of Cashel Library for the use of their beautiful exhibition space, to the board of management and tutors alike for their support during this project and to all those who were involved in any aspect of the Accomplishment Journal. It is and will always be greatly appreciated.
