Deloitte, the leading business advisory firm, in association with Irish Life Corporate Business, has revealed Tipperary firm, Surecom Network Solutions Ltd, as a winner of this year’s Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme.
Twenty companies were recognised at an awards gala dinner in the Burlington Hotel on March 2, where they were joined by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD as special guest speaker.
Minister Bruton, said: “If we are to achieve the levels of employment and economic growth we so badly need, we must create a powerful engine of indigenous businesses. The quality of management in Irish companies is an issue which can make a major difference to the performance of our indigenous businesses, but which has not been adequately targeted by recent governments.
The winning companies are located throughout the island of Ireland. Of the twenty winners, eight companies are based in Leinster, seven are based in Munster and five are based in Ulster. The winners come from a variety of different industries including IT, telecommunications, hospitality and catering, outsourcing, and design and print, among others.
An independent judging panel, chaired by Liam O’Mahony, measured company performance by looking at a broad range of criteria including strategy, capability, commitment, financials and management performance across all key functions of the business.
Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte and judging panel member commented: “The judging panel were extremely impressed with the innovative strategies that are being adopted by Irish management teams. From diversification strategies to a particular focus on foreign expansion and overseas markets, Irish companies are exploiting new and exciting opportunities to ensure growth in their companies.
