€250,000 upgrade and refurbishment gives Aherlow House Hotel a facelift
With a list of significant refurbishments and an investment of almost a quarter of a million euro, Aherlow House Hotel has had a mini-facelift and is looking particularly pretty this autumn.
The fabulous new tiled terrace is perfectly positioned to make the absolute most of any available sunshine, while capitalising on the fantastic views down the valley of the Glen of Aherlow. As a backdrop for wedding photos, or simply to enjoy over a lingering lunch or a refreshing drink, the views from the terrace and from many other parts of Aherlow House Hotel and grounds are unsurpassed – definitely some of the best views in Ireland!
The restaurant at Aherlow House Hotel has had a chic and stylish upgrade, making it an elegant but relaxed place in which to enjoy the terrific food of Head Chef Jose Vega. The restaurant itself has three distinct spaces, with the final blue room making an ideal venue for intimate weddings. Perfect too for family parties or group celebrations, it’s a handsome and characterful space.
Chef Vega’s confident use of stellar local ingredients allied to his own French heritage and style are an irresistible combination, not just in the restaurant, but are also adding a particular flair to the menu in the cosy Hunting Lodge Bar.
A fantastic place to stop for a delicious lunch or morning coffee while enjoying the glorious walks locally, or a creamy pint by the roaring fire in the evening, there are also tempting treats available on the all day menu which make the Hunting Lodge Bar at Aherlow House Hotel a destination in its own right!
Aherlow House Hotel has always been popular as a wedding venue with couples looking for something authentic, where the stunning setting makes an impressive backdrop to photos and the attractive ballroom, and above all, the attention to detail, warmth and genuine hospitality of each and every member of staff in the hotel, makes the experience so special.
Facing the mountains, and lit by the gentle glow of delicate chandeliers, the ballroom, called the Diarmuid and Grainne Suite, has also had a total makeover, and now this graceful space will make an even lovelier backdrop to the big day!
Along with the visible freshening of painting and decoration throughout the hotel, there has also been investment in areas that aren’t immediately obvious, such as the electrical and heating systems, the hotel’s IT system, in the kitchens, and in the area of health and safety.
Under the stewardship of Atlantic Hospitality Services, also responsible for other great hotels such as Waterford Castle, Kinnitty Castle Hotel and Ballykisteen Hotel & Golf Resort, Aherlow House Hotel is certainly looking good this autumn!
