Almost 700 workers wanted by Argos this Christmas

Argos is looking for 670 helpers to work in its stores across the Republic of Ireland in the run up to Christmas to support its existing store colleagues.

Argos is hoping the announcement will be welcome news in what continues to be a challenging jobseeker’s market.

Along with flexible working hours and training, new recruits will benefit from a competitive rate of pay plus an immediate 10 per cent staff discount at Argos and 20 per cent discount at sister company, Homebase.

With 40 Argos stores across the Republic, the new roles are accessible nationwide.

Andy McClelland, National Operations Manager, Argos said: “Christmas is our busiest period of the year so we always need extra help in our stores to ensure we can deliver great service to the hundreds of thousands of customers who shop with us at this time. Argos is a fast paced, exciting and interesting place to be during the festive season so we are looking for passionate and enthusiastic staff to join our teams.”

The roles are for up to three months with opportunities to extend to four months and potentially even a permanent employment contract if vacancies are available in stores.

Recruitment advertisements are out now. Full details and application forms are available in Argos stores and onwww.argoscareers.com/christmas
