Brian’s company offers businesses a helping hand online
Clonmelman Brian Duffy is the owner of a company that teaches businesses and companies to succeed online via the internet.
A Clonmel man who specialises in the field of web development and e-learning is launching a company that teaches businesses how to manage their websites and to succeed online via the internet.
Brian Duffy’s company ebusinessmatters.com delivers online training courses that help business owners to manage the development of a professional standard website, while giving them the knowledge and skills they need to manage and market that site successfully to promote their business. Brian explains “on completion of our course students can expect a completed website, developed at absolute minimum cost (normally less than $100), as well as an Internet marketing strategy for getting visitors and meeting business objectives”.
Based in Dublin, he has been running his courses for the last year and-a-half and went fully online last January.
30 year-old Brian runs the courses in conjunction with Ballsbridge College, where he is the web authoring and multimedia course co-ordinator. The courses will be expanded to a number of other colleges from next September.
The son of Jill and Gerard Duffy from Cherrymount, Brian is a past pupil of Powerstown national school and Clonmel High School. He graduated from University of Limerick with a computer science degree in 2003 and worked in the web development industry until last May, when he took up his post at the Ballsbridge College in Dublin.
Students of e Business Matters learn to use WordPress, free software that has become the industry standard for website management used by well-known brands such as eBay, Yahoo, Ford, CNN, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. WordPress allows users to create anything from a standard business brochure website or online booking system for a rental property to a fully-developed e-commerce website for selling products and receiving payments online.
The company’s new course “How to Be a Freelance Web Developer”, which starts in June, has been developed by Brian in conjunction with well-known and highly respected experts from the world of e-business.
“The programme is designed for people who want to work for themselves and who have basic experience in web design”, he says.
Programme participants of the new course will be mentored on how to set up and run a profitable web developer business, step by step.
The ebusinessmatters.com website provides multiple channels for students to interact with their tutor using technology that will be familiar to anyone who uses websites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Skype.
