Cashel to lose Aircoach service

Cllr Maribel Wood.

Cllr Maribel Wood.

Mayor Maribel Wood has expressed grave disappointment at the decision of Aircoach to discontinue its services through Cashel town.

She has corresponded with the coach operators and is hoping that a meeting can be arranged with management as soon as possible.

Meanwhile Cllr Tom Wood has been in contact with Aircoach at its Dublin office to relay the views of local people who availed of the service. During a telephone conversation he said that it was difficult to understand why every service was stopped with such haste and presumed that the coach was already full before leaving Dublin or Cork on its new direct express route. An employee of Aircoach informed him that while the express services were full, the Cashel stop was discontinued for financial reasons.
