Chamber members take a look behind the scenes at Tullamore D.E.W.

Clonmel Chamber’s first event of 2013 aimed to give member companies a glimpse behind the scenes at one of the world’s most famous whiskey brands. The ‘Behind the Scenes at Tullamore D.E.W.’ event sought to highlight the activities of Wm Grant & Sons on the Waterford Road; the packaging plant for the iconic whiskey. On the night members were given an update on how the business has progressed since being purchased by Wm. Grants & Sons from the C&C Group in 2011. Garry Moore, Operations Manager at the site and Enda Lynch, Site EH&S Manager were on hand to give a guided tour and answer questions relating to the development on the Waterford Road in Clonmel. The event ended with a nosing and tasting session which was enjoyed by all present. Speaking afterwards Chamber CEO Brian Cleary said that the event was an excellent way for members to learn more about some of the world class businesses that operate in the town. “Our behind the s cenes events always attract a good attendance and this was no different. What Garry and Enda did was to let a small group of our members see that there is a product made in Clonmel that is known throughout the world. To be able to produce that requires excellent processes and management and attendees gained an insight in to the way that the site works. Also, it was nice to start our year with an event that enabled members to meet many new member companies and to ‘peak behind the curtain’ at Tullamore D.E.W. Garry and Enda were excellent hosts and were very generous with their time and gifts”.
