WHAT IS A
CREDIT UNION?

A Credit Union is a financial cooperative owned and run by its members, who save money on a regular basis thus building a credit rating which, in turn, allows them to borrow money from their fellow members, based on that credit rating.

There are more than
500 Credit Unions on the island of Ireland and the movement here is one of the most successful in the world, with 3.5 million members and combined savings of approximately €6 billion.

WHY BORROW FROM
A CREDIT UNION?

Our Credit Unions are OPEN FOR BUSINESS and our BUSINESS IS LENDING!

For example, you will find keen rates which do not fluctuate, and receive expert advice from professionally qualified personnel delivered in a confidential environment.

In addition, loans are insured at no extra cost to the members. These insurances include Life Savings Insurance, Loan Protection Insurance and Death Benefit Insurance, with terms and conditions applying. There are no hidden fees or transaction charges.

But probably the best feature of a Credit Union loan is that interest is paid only on the reducing balance. This means smaller interest payments as you repay the loan.

And there is no penalty if you repay the loan before the loan term expires, while additional lump sum repayments are also accepted without penalty.

Credit Unions are always ready to listen to your particular needs and will help you plan your loan to best suit your needs.
