Tipperary company Clean Ireland is top kerbside collector
Environment Minister Phil Hogan presents the top waste operator award to Clean Ireland.
Clean Ireland Recycling has re-enforced its industry leader position after being awarded the accolade for Kerbside Collector of the Year at the prestigious National Repak awards.
The company, which operates in South Tipperary, was announced as the inaugural winner of the award, which was added to the national awards for the first time this year to acknowledge the company that operates the best Irish waste collection service to households.
It was one of only two categories for waste management operators out of the total of 12 awards, with Clean Ireland also one of just three companies selected for the second waste operator award – Recovery Operator of the Year. Repak Ltd is the Government approved organisation that facilitates and promotes packaging recycling in Ireland and the awards are the most significant in the industry.
Speaking as the company received the award at an event in Croke Park, Caroline Walsh of Clean Ireland Recycling said that the accolade recognises Clean Ireland Recyclings’ on-going commitment to providing a premium service to its’ customers which allows them to achieve sustainable savings, with minimum impact on the environment.
“We have won numerous awards before as a company but this is the probably the most satisfying as it recognises the company for what it wants to be recognised most for – providing the best service to customers,” she said.
“This award is as much for our customers as it is us as without their willingness to embrace our initiatives to provide sustainable savings, our business would not have achieved the growth it has and, ultimately, won this award. They have committed to this process not just because it means they pay less but alsocreating a sustainable environment is equally important to them and we hear that day in day out, which is very heartening.”
