Tipperary had some winning outfits in the recent Southern Final for Junk Kouture Recycled Fashion Competition 2013 (a sold out show in UCH, Limerick last Thursday night).

Some amazing outfits took to the stage (83 in total) with 20 announced as finalists.

Included were THE WARRIOR PRINCESS modelled by Zoe O’brien (Clonmel) and REWIND ME modelled by Moya O’Dwyer (Clonmel), both students of the Presentation Secondary School.

Over 80 outfits from secondary schools across the South showcased their designs at the finals.

After much deliberation by the judges, the 20 finalists were hand-picked and presented with a golden ticket by Yvonne Holmes (ERP) & David McDonnell( rea Manager for the South West for Bank of Ireland).

Each of the Eastern finalists will go on to showcase their designs at the Junk Kouture Grand Finale in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, on 19th April.

Elizabeth O’Donnell, co-founder of Junk Kouture has said, ‘The standard this year was exceptionally high which made the judges decisions extremely difficult. The talent was exceptional and we are very excited about the Grand Finale next month.”

Once on the catwalk at the Grand Finale, the Junk Kouture’s expert judges (Environmental Awareness judge, Yvonne Holmes; International model, Faye Dinsmore; Stylist and TV Presenter, Darren Kennedy; and Art and Design expert, Tracey Fahey) will be tasked with the decision of finding the budding designers who will walk away with over €20,000 worth of prizes.

Who will be crowned the winner of Junk Kouture Recycled Fashion Competition 2013 in association with the European Recycling Platform (ERP), Ireland’s only pan European compliance scheme for electrical waste and battery recycling and Bank of Ireland? Winner will be announced on the night of the Grand Finale, 19th April.
