Recently the Student Council held a ‘Spot the Teacher’ fundraiser. There was great excitement as the children matched each teacher to old toddler photographs!

The task proved more difficult than expected and the most successful entrants were chosen from each class.

In 2010 the Student Council was set up in the school in conjunction with the Comenius Project (a European Commission lifelong learning programme funded by Leargas) and members of the council are elected in September.

Members of the Council would like to thank the children, parents and staff for making this fundraiser a great success. The money raised will go to the purchase of classroom resources.

Scór na bPáistí

Congratulations to the sixth class ballad group who came second in the Scór na bPáistí competition held in Clonmel.

Book Fair

The annual Book Fair was held in the school on Tuesday, January 31, and Wednesday, February 1, and once again the children loved the selection of books.

Choosing and reading a suitable book helps to nurture a love of reading, thereby developing a hobby which is considered to be the best of all pastimes. Reading is of major importance in every child’s education.

Thank you to all for supporting the Book Fair and the money raised will help restock class libraries.
