Table Quiz Postponed
As a mark of respect following the passing of local councillor, Michael Anglim, Goatenbridge/Ballybacon Development Association postponed our General Knowledge Table Quiz which was to be held on Friday, January 25. It will now take place on this Friday, February 1, at 9pm.
Monies raised will go towards various projects in the Goatenbridge and Ballybacon Areas in 2013 such as flowers, plants, shrubs, trees, we will be able to provide petrol etc for cutting of grass and for the general upkeep of the area. Cllr Seanie Lonergan will be the quizmaster on the night. There will also be a raffle and refreshments will be served!
Cahir Country Market
Come to the Country Market on Friday morning between 9am and 11am this week to try our super new savoury products. Our latest producer is providing Cornish pasties, sausage rolls and quiches at our market. So don’t forget, every Friday in the Community Hall behind Cahir Post Office for a full range of local home made products. Remember by supporting our market producers you are supporting local families and jobs.
Ballingeary ICA Notes
Next Guild meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 6, at 8pm in Ballingeary school house. There will be a speaker on the night. Hostesses will be Mary Moloney, Marie Keating, Margaret Lonergan and Mary Casey.
Our very well attended Zumba classes are continuing on Wednesday nights. Research is continuing regarding school reunion of former pupils of Ballingeary school. If anyone has old photographs or memorabilia from their days at the school it would be a fantastic help to our project.
All are welcome to our meetings.

Cahir Flower & Garden Club Agm
The annual general meeting of Cahir Flower & Garden Club will take place in Cahir House Hotel on Wednesday, January 30, at 8pm. All members are requested to attend.
Music For A Spring Evening
On February 23 a concert will take place in Cahir House Hotel in aid of Cahir Community Hall, and St. Paul’s Church. The concert will start at 8pm. Performing on the night will be the Garda Choir from Cork, Cahir Choral Society, Belle Voci singers and three solo singers. Cahir Park Under 13s Fundraising Disco
Cahir Park AFC will hold a children’s disco in Cahir House Hotel Night Club on Friday, February 1, from 7pm to 9pm and all children up to the age of 14 years are invited to come along. Admission is €5 and there will be full adult supervision on the night.
The very best of luck to the Cahir Park’s U13 Squad for the match that will be played in Gweedore on Sunday, February 3.
