Coláiste Dún Iascaigh celebrated the news from An Taisce that the Coláiste has secured its second Green Flag – the energy flag at a ceremony in the Colaiste.
This is just reward for the work put in by all the Coláiste in reducing energy bills and increasing awareness and implementation of conservation initiatives.
Particular credit is due to the hard working Green Schools Committee co-ordinated by Mr. Stephen O’Brien and chaired by fifth year student Jessica Rowe, who have initiated and driven the campaign forward.
This success was a whole school effort and the Colaiste has benefited economically and environmentally by the conscious effort made by all to implement the programme.
The Colaiste is one of very few schools in the country to have received a prestigious second Green Flag.
