Alice Quirke from Ballinleenty is off to China to continue her studies in Commerce and Chinese.

Alice Quirke from Ballinleenty is off to China to continue her studies in Commerce and Chinese.

Alice went to Lisvernane N.S.and did her Leaving Cert in St. Anne’s in 2011. From there she began her four-year degree studies in UCD that includes third year studying abroad.

Alice will travel to Beijing and study the Chinese language at the Beijing University of Technology until Christmas. For the second term she will move to Xiamen to study commerce.

Alice,the eldest of four children of Michael and Kathleen and is the first child to flee the nest. “My parents are a bit nervous about my trip but they’ll be okay. When I arrive our accommodation is on campus so it should be easy enough to settle down until Christmas.I play with the gaelic football team in UCD and I’m looking forward to joining the Beijing GAA club.
