The heat is officially on as Euro-Toques Ireland has revealed the five finalists that will battle it out in Ireland’s most prestigious culinary competition for young chefs – The Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year Competition 2014.

The heat is officially on as Euro-Toques Ireland has revealed the five finalists that will battle it out in Ireland’s most prestigious culinary competition for young chefs – The Euro-Toques Young Chef of the Year Competition 2014.

Clonmel local, Luke Ahearne (22) made it into the final five after impressing high profile judges such as Domini Kemp and Graham Neville in the initial stages of the competition. Luke works as a Chef de Partie in Kilkenny’s Michelin star restaurant Campagne.

Luke and the remaining four finalists will battle it out to win this year’s prize, which includes an all expenses paid stage at two-starred Michelin restaurant, The Square in London’s Mayfair. Phil Howard, Proprietor and chef at The Square, will also be the special guest judge on the day and night of the final which will be held on Sunday November 23 in Dublin.

The theme of this year’s competition is ‘No Chef is an Island’ which the candidates interpreted in myriad of ways.
