The perfect Eastern honeymoon adventure

Where in the World I am getting married in October and we would like to visit the Far East for our honeymoon but don't know where to start. We are going for three weeks and have been told that we should pick three locations and spend a week in each. Can you suggest the top places to go for romance and a bit of adventure?

Where in the World I am getting married in October and we would like to visit the Far East for our honeymoon but don't know where to start. We are going for three weeks and have been told that we should pick three locations and spend a week in each. Can you suggest the top places to go for romance and a bit of adventure?

The Far East is a wonderful choice as a honeymoon destination, offering an array of scenic and tropical spots to relax and explore. I would suggest Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore for you on this occasion as each caters for many honeymooners and has a wealth of luxury hotels to choose from.

Thailand and Singapore are two of the most popular spots for newlyweds as they offer a tropical climate as well as a wealth of activities from mountain walks and kayaking to shopping and sightseeing, whilst Malaysia is historic and culture-rich.

Thailand boasts great value and unrivalled luxury at very affordable prices. The people are friendly and hospitable and will make you feel at home from start to finish. Koh Samui and Phuket are popular choices for couples like yourselves but you will find visitors of all types there such as families, singles and groups.

The most popular beach destination in South East Asia is Phuket with spa resorts aplenty and many adventure activities on offer. A speedboat trip around Phang Nga Bay is a fun way to soak up the scenery.

Koh Samui, the island of coconut trees in Thai, is the third largest island in Thailand after Phuket and Koh Chang, and is dotted with tiny beaches and coves not to be missed. Chaweng Beach is one of the most popular but make sure to visit Big Buddha beach also which is complete with a hammock beach bar to lounge at.

Singapore is one of the most individual places in the world as it offers amazing shopping, fantastic hotels and glorious beaches all on one island. It is a small, dynamic country, rich in culture, fine cuisine and architecture. Singapore embodies east and west with its sleek skyscraper hotels and small guesthouses and is ideal for newlyweds looking for romance, relaxation and culture.

For something a bit different, head to Bottle Tree Village where you will find a pretty seaside resort with intimate restaurants, beaches and barbeque areas. Take a day out and head down to the resort early, find yourself a spot on the beach and at the end of the day, watch the dramatic sunset over the ocean.

Malaysia is a gastronomical paradise so if you are in any way into food, I recommend paying this fascinating country a visit. On arrival you should head up the west coast to Pankor Laut which has swimming pools and tennis courts right on the beach.
