Bad weather can’t stop Speech Contest

There was an excellent turnout despite awful weather conditions for the Speech and Evaluation Contests hosted by Cashel Toastmasters last Thursday night in

There was an excellent turnout despite awful weather conditions for the Speech and Evaluation Contests hosted by Cashel Toastmasters last Thursday night in
Gleeson’s Pub.

Mary Ryan was a superb contest chair keeping the evenings events running smoothly. Fionnuala Greene was Topics Master, Claire Moore was timer and chief judge was Paul Sheridan.

Our test speaker was Raymond Ryan who travelled from Mallow, bringing with him friends and supporters. His speech ‘An Explosive Evening’ had us all laughing and thankful we didn’t have an evening like it! It was a win-win for Clonmel Toastmasters and congratulations to Thos O’Neill, who came first in Speech, and James Prendergast, first in Evaluation. Thurles and Cashel acquitted themselves very well making sure that the judges did not have an easy task selecting the
eventual winners.

On a night that was made for the fireside Cashel Club would like to thank everyone who came to the Area Final and helped make it a great night. The Divisional Final will take place at the Clonmel Park Hotel on Sunday, April 21, at 3pm. Please be sure to save the date in the diaries, looking forward to seeing you there.
