Peggy is new President of South Tipp ICA Federation

Mrs. Peggy O’Brien, a former Cahir Person of the Year, is the new President of South Tipperary ICA Federation.

Mrs. Peggy O’Brien, a former Cahir Person of the Year, is the new President of South Tipperary ICA Federation.

She was presented with her official chain of office by out-going President Mrs. Lily Barrett at the Federation AGM held in the Park Hotel, Clonmel, at the weekend.

Mrs Barrett was an interim president for one year only. This was because the new constitution of ICA comes into being this year.

The members of ICA are very grateful to Mrs. Barrett for taking on the demanding role of Federation President in the one year gap between the old and the new constitution.

Peggy brings to the office a wealth of experience.

She is a former Federation President and she holds the office of Munster Vice President until May. She is a great community person and is treasurer of Cahir Country Markets.

In accepting the chain of office from Mrs. Barrett, Peggy paid a fitting tribute to Lily, that dynamic lady from Killenaule, who has a great love for ICA and is so very much involved in community life in Killenaule.

Tributes were also made to out-going treasurer Mrs. Maureen Fahey and secretary Mrs. Kathleen Hogg.
