ICA Members from all over South Tipperary gathered in Dundrum House Hotel for a Garden Party organised by Mrs. Peggy O’Brien, ICA Federation President.

The aim of the event was to give something back to the local members and to bring a more social element to ICA.

A lovely lunch was served and the hotel and staff made members feel very welcome. Many ladies sent their compliments to the chef.

The blustery weather didn’t spoil the enjoyment of the occasion, and members covered their finery to walk in the beautiful grounds of the Hhotel.

There was a competition for the ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Lady’ and Mrs. Margaret Kingston of Kingstons of Tipperary was the adjudicator on the day.

Helen O’Dwyer of Rathkeevin ICA was the winner in her lovely outfit.

She received a warm round of applause from members, while a “fanfare” was played by Eddie Kehoe, who provided music for the dancing on the day.

A vote of thanks to the organiser was proposed by Mrs. Gay O’Connell, and this was seconded by Mrs. Betty Williams.

The very enjoyable afternoon came to a close, when members sang ‘My Land’, the ICA anthem.
