Tipperary reach u-17 football final

On Friday last at Dr. Morris Park Thurles, Tipperary defeated Clare by 3-10 to 0-7 in the Munster Under 17 Football competition.

On Friday last at Dr. Morris Park Thurles, Tipperary defeated Clare by 3-10 to 0-7 in the Munster Under 17 Football competition.

Tipperary led by 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time thanks to a goal by centre-back Colin O’Riordan. Tipperary full-forward Tom Kirwan added another goal early in the second half but three quick points by Clare left just a goal between the sides midway through the second half.

However, a third Tipperary goal by wing-forward Michael O’Connor secured the victory as Clare were held scoreless in the final quarter. Tipperary qualified to play Limerick in the final for the Daryl Darcy Cup last night (Tuesday) in the Gaelic Grounds.
