There will be celebrations on the Tipperary side of the Shannon as Ballina won their first ever county intermediate hurling title with a 3-12 to 0-20 victory over Moyne Templetuohy.

As with the senior final, this was a nail biting finish and the width of the post was all that prevented a battling Moyne Templetuohy side from earning a draw.

Congratulations to Ballina on securing a great win and well done too to Moyne Templetuohy for their contribution to a fine game. County Vice Chairman, Michael Bourke, presented the Jacksie Ryan Cup to victorious captain, David Hickey, who gave a rousing address.

The John Quirke Jewellers sponsored Man of the Match award went to Ballina centre back, Thomas Collins.

Ballina will play Dromin-Athlacca or Knockaderry of Limerick in the AIB Munster club intermediate hurling quarter-final on Sunday October 27 at a Limerick venue.
