Dan Kavanagh: The club wishes to extend sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Dan Kavanagh who passed away on Sunday. Dan and his family were part and parcel of the very fabric of our club and news of Dan’s passing was greeted with sadness throughout the club. May you rest in peace Dan.

Seniors: On Sunday we played Cair in round 2 of the County Championship. A tough encounter ended in a two point win for Commercials. This was a battling performance by the team and well done to all involved.

Juniors: Our involvement in the junior championship came to an end in Saturday night’s semi-final. Although beaten by six points the team performed well against the championship favourites. Well done to John Hynes, his selectors and the panel of players.

Under 10 Blitz: On Saturday morning last the club entertained teams from Portlaoise and Mungret of Limerick. Each club had two teams and the action got under way at 12.30pm and with the sun shining and a packed field there was a great afternoon’s entertainment. All teams competed very well and there was a tremendous standard on show. All players received a medal and a goodie bag after the games. We would like to thank Tomás ó Ceallaigh, Philly Ryan and their crew for the organising of this event. Thank you also to the parents who brought along sandwiches and cakes and to all who helped out on the day. Thank you also to Brian Tyrrell, Michael Quinlivan and Seamus Kennedy who refereed the games.

Minors: Training for the minor panel continues as they prepare for their semi-final against Aherlow. The numbers attending in the last week have been good and we would encourage the players to put in that extra effort in the lead up to the forthcoming game.

Best wishes to Tipp Minors: Best wishes to Darren Cass and the Tipperary minor hurlers who play Dublin on Sunday in the All Ireland final.
