Kickhams defeated Cappawhite in the second semi-final of the West Tipperary junior hurling championship A at Sean Treacy Park on Sunday evening by 2-16 to 1-7 and now meet Clonoulty-Rossmore in the final.

The scoreline might suggest a one-sided affair, and it was so in the end, but for much of the game it was a close contest. The score at half-time was 0-9 to 1-3 with everything to play for. Cappa’s goal was scored by corner-forward, Seanie Ryan.

The third quarter was still tight but two goals by Aiden Butler and substitute Kenneth Horgan decided the issue. Lack of forward power by Cappawhite was their undoing as they were confined to four points in the second half.
