Great win for Cashel camogie under 14s

Cashel U14s travelled to the Ragg on Tuesday, May 28, to take on Clonoulty in the County Final. Almost from the throw-in Clonoulty broke up the field to record the opening score, a goal after two minutes.

From the puck out Cashel then took complete control of the game and scored a goal and three points without reply. With seven minutes remaining Clonoulty scored a point from a free but Cashel responded quickly by scoring another two points leaving the half time score 1-5 1-1 in Cashel’s favour.

Right from the restart Cashel piled more pressure on the Clonoulty defence and added another point. In the fifteenth minute Clonoulty broke down the field to score a goal and a pint, once again the Cashel girls responded quickly scoring a further two points leaving them leading by three points as the game entered the final quarter.

In the final minutes of the game Clonoulty bombarded the Cashel goal scoring a point, but the Cashel defence gave a magnificent display and held out to the final whistle where the scoreline read Cashel 1-8 to Clonoulty 2-3. Cashel scorers Caoimhe Perdue, 1-5 Aine O’Dwyer, 0-2 Jane Anne Fitzgerald, 0-1.

Cashel have now won back to back U14 County Titles, a great achievement, Well done to then panel, the management and the back room staff.

Championship commences on July 9. All games at 7.15pm.

Cashel’s first fixture is away to Nenagh on July 9.
