Tipperary caused one of the major shocks of the All Ireland senior football championship qualifiers at the weekend when they beat hot favourites Wexford at Semple Stadium.

Tipp followed up on their first round win over Offaly with another thoroughly deserved victory, edging out Wexford a by a single point, 1-13 to 0-15.

A first half goal from Donagh Leahy set Tipp on the road to victory and they led by five at the break, 1-8 to 0-6.

Despite a spirited fightback by Wexford in the second half, they held on for a famous win.

Their reward is a home tie against Antrim this weekend with the winners of that game meeting the losers of the Ulster final, Down or Donegal, in the following round.
