LADIES FOOTBALL

The ladies football club began 2014 with a very pleasant task of presenting the Under 14 team with their county medals. The function was held in the sports Hall in Monroe last Sunday evening.

These amazing girls won the County A Final, the County Feile final and contested the All Ireland Feile Final in Derry last summer. They were worthy of the great praise and credit they received on the night. Equally deserving of great praise and credit were their mentors, Edmond Burke and Francis Ryan, for the huge efforts put into training, preparation and organising throughout last year.

The medals were presented by Club members of the Tipperary Intermediate team: Niamh Lonergan, Barbara Ryan, Hazel Shanahan and Sarah Everard. A very enjoyable evening was had by all.

The minor team celebrated their 2013 Championship involvement by going Bowling in Clonmel and afterwards in Supremacs the bowling was competitive between the six teams, the mentors team found the bowling drill difficult at times and were lucky not to have do laps for their poor performance. It was a very enjoyable evening.

The club extends its sympathy to the family of Orla and Maureen Burke on the death of Maureen’s father, Jim English of Derrygrath, Cahir. We also extend our sympathy to Sean Brosnan on the death of his father Michael Brosnan of Lispooole, County Kerry.

Camogie

On behalf of both Ladies football and Camogie Clubs we wish all our Players, Mentors, Club officials and Supporters all the best in 2014
