St. Mary’s Hurling Club
Our U/21s took on Ballingarry in the South Championship and lost out narrowly by two points on a score of 0-14 to 1-9. See match report.
St Marys U 12s competed in the annual tournament in Carigeen, Kilkenny again this year and were victorious against a gallant St Mullins team from Carlow. This was a keenly contested final and the result was in doubt up until the final few minutes when the boys just pulled ahead to win by 6 points. Best for St Marys was undoubtedly Josh Ryan who dominated throughout and he was ably assisted by Conor Deely, Christy Grogan, Darragh O’Keeffe, Matthew Brophy, Daniel Burke, Adam Walsh, Enda Dunphy, Gavin McGuire, Sean McCullagh, Jack Gurren and Aaron Kinsella. Well done to the lads as they end the year on a high note.
Well Done Colman
Congratulations to Colman Kennedy who was recognised in the Munster GAA Awards 2012. Colman received the award for the 2012 Munster GAA Minor Footballer of the Year from the Munster Council in Killarney last weekend. Colman is also one of the outstanding hurlers in our club . Well deserved, and there’s more to come.
The year 2012 Annual General Meeting of St Mary’s Hurling club will take place in Hearns Hotel, Parnell Street, Clonmel, on Saturday, 8 December, at 7.30 pm.
The club sends its deepest sympathy to the Keane family on the unexpected death of Terence last week. His brother Ben played football with Clonmel Commercials for a long number of years with great success. He also acted as coach for a number of years. He did turn out for St. Mary’s in the early 70s. Ar dheis lamh go raibh Terence.
