Cahir under 21 footballers put up a good show against a very strong Clonmel Og/Clerihan team on Sunday last but were unable to convert several easy chances into scores.

The team and scorers were as follows: Evan O’Dwyer, Gavin McCarthy, Oisin Moloney, Cormac Looby, Eoin Farrell, Daniel Moloney, Eoghann Quinlan, Conor Casey, Dean Lonergan (0-2), Mikey O’Connor (0-1), Niall McKenna (0-1), Liam Howard (0-1), Michael Tobin, Eoin Donaghy, Ciaran O’Donnell (1-0).

Subs used: Ryan Murphy, Ryan O’Donnell

Cahir still have to play Killenaule and Mullinahone with two qualifying from the group. Training continues this week and all players will be notified by text.

Colaiste Dun Iascaigh

Congratulations to the Colaiste who won the Munster final in the Senior “B” Vocational Schools which was played on Saturday last. Cahir players who figured prominently in the competition were Conor Casey, Liam Howard, Oisin Moloney, Daire O’Brien, Kieran Davis, Brendan Donaghy, Ryan Murphy, Keelan Hickey, John Casey, Aaron Murphy and Ian Flannery.

Gaeltacht Scholarships 2013

Coiste Chontae Thiobraid Árann is offering a limited number of Gaeltacht Scholarships to second level students in the county. These scholarships are limited to those students in second, fifth, and transition year. Applicants or their parents must have been registered members of their local GAA Club in 2012. Application forms are available from club secretary Eddie Lonergan, and must be returned by February 28.

Sympathy

Cahir Club would like to express sincere sympathy to the family of Maurice Condon who died last week. Maurice was one of four Condon brothers who played for the Club in the 1950s and 60s. Club members provided a guard of honour for Maurice as he made his final journey to his local church.
