The Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Football AGM takes place next Thursday, September 12, at 7p.m. in Hayes’ Hotel Thurles.

Please ensure your school is represented at the AGM. If any school wishes to be re-graded in football or ladies football this year you must send an email to aodanwrenn@gmail.com by 5pm on Tuesday 10th September. As per the rules of Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, any school who wishes to be re-graded must have a representative at the AGM to argue the school’s case for re-grading.

Start dates will be confirmed at the AGM but we are hoping to begin competitions by Friday 20th September. For the upcoming Tipperary Allianz Cumann na mBunscol football championships all boys playing must wear mouth guards. Boys should be wearing mouth guards for training, including with G.A.A. coaches in schools, and matches. It will not be compulsory for girls to wear them until 1st January 2014. This year we are asking the teacher in charge to text Aodán Wrenn on 087-6578057 with the name of the school, the email address you want all correspondence to go to for the coming school year 2013/2014 and the competitions you wish to enter.

Schools are encouraged to send news and updates of their progress in the football championships for the coming season. Reports can be a great writing topic for the classroom and are an opportunity for children to see their work published for a wider audience. In the pre-season children could be given the chance to tell about their own training regiments and tips for the coming championship. A Reporter of the Week will be chosen and their work included in the weekly report. Please ensure all reports are a single paragraph in Verdana 10 type. All submissions should be proof-read by the teacher before submission.

Cumann na mBunscol Cornmarket Awards 2013 will take place in the Hogan Mezzanine Suite, Croke Park Stadium on Saturday, November 16th. Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol has had great success at the awards of late and hope to continue to this year. School updates and reports contribute to the success of Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol as well as the tremendous work put in by the officers over the years. Details have been forwarded to schools by Secretary Aodán Wrenn.
