A special fundraiser has been launched to support the training funds for the Tipperary inter-county hurling and football teams which have done so well and provided so much entertainment during their championship campaigns this summer.

Tipperary County Board are seeking 1,000 donations of €100 and each donor will receive free entry for 2 people to the county senior hurling and football finals and a 10% discount voucher for a purchase at the Tipperary GAA shop. All contributors who have donated by September 1, 2012 will be entered into a draw for 5 pairs of tickets for the All Ireland hurling or football final in 2012. The final closing date will be October 1 2012.

There will also be a telethon on Saturday afternoon, August 11 from 2pm to 6pm. Based at Lar na Pairce, there will be an opportunity for supporters to ring in and pledge their €100 to one of the special guests who will be answering the phones.

Details will be available on the Tipperary website and on local radio before Saturday.

In the meantime anybody wishing to donate €100 can contact the GAA Office in Thurles at 0504 22702.

The board is appealing to the generosity of supporters who are in a position to make a donation to do so in the interests of maximising the chances of success for the teams in the remainder of 2012 and on into 2013.
