Munster Council grants for Tipperary GAA clubs

The Vice-Chairman of the Munster Council of the GAA, Robert Frost of Clare, attended Tipperary GAA Convention in the Dome at Semple Stadium, Thurles, last week to present council grants to thirteen Tipperary clubs/schools for development work at their premises.

In a brief address, he referred to discussions on the difficult state of the board’s finances, saying that a lot of clubs were in a similar situation. “It is a sign of the times and all needed to be prudent in how they spent money”, he said.

He added that the council paid out 800,000 euro in grants and that 80,000 of this was going to Tipperary clubs.

Recipients were – Ballina (j15,000 towards purchase of ground and j3,075 towards developement); Scoil Iosa Naofa, Corville, Roscrea; Ballina Handball Club (j1251 for development); Borrisokane (j3950 for dressing room development); Moyne-Templetuohy (j16,000 for dressing room development); Ballylooby-Castlegrace (j2817, development grant); Clonakenny (j1301, development grant); Clonoulty-Rossmore (j5085, development grant); Eire Og, Anacarty (j4848 development grant); Golden-Kilfeacle (j1111 development grant); Moycarkey-Borris (j2842 development grant); Moyle Rovers (j6016 development grant); Roscrea (j2442 development grant).
