Congratulations to the First and Second Year camogie team who were victorious in the Tipperary schools blitz held in Clonoulty recently.

With a panel of 31, it was possible to enter two teams. The `B`team had very competitive games against Ballingarry, Newport and Killaloe – the last named topped this group.

The `A` team’s first game was against Borrisokane. This turned out to be a very tight affair with Cashel having a mere point to spare at the end. The girls showed great determination and hunger to win their second game well against Cahir. In the course of these two games the team’s confidence grew considerably, readying them for a big challenge against Roscrea.

Despite showing strong support play and teamwork, the Cashel girls fell behind in the first half by one point, having been denied number of goals by an excellent Roscrea goalie. In the second half the CCS girls showed their dominance on the field of play and opted for points rather than trying for goals. In the end, they won by seven points to three points. Amidst great celebrations, the Cashel captain Laura Connolly was presented with the cup.

Congrats too to team mentors, Ms. Brid Gleeson and Ms. Eileen Connolly.
