Sologhead GAA Club held their 2012 AGM in the GAA Clubs meeting room on Thursday, December 20.
Outgoing Chairperson Noreen Ryan who wasn’t seeking re-election thanked everyone who helped out in any way with the running of the club during the past year and complimented Nicholas Lonergan on a first class treasurer’s report and Philip Doherty on a well laid out secretary’s report on the year’s playing activities.
While no silverware she noted came the way of the club at senior level, both clubs who defeated us at semi final stage, Sean Treacys (Football) and Rosegreen (Hurling), later went on to capture West titles.
She congratulated the Juvenile club who for the second year in a row kept the flag flying with their U12 Footballers captained by Jack Redican defeating the Kickhams in the U12 C Football West Final.
The following are the team managers elected for the coming year and will appoint their own selectors.
As the club will not be able to field teams because of lack of numbers at U14, U16, Minor or U21 level, players in those categories within the club will hopefully link up with neighbouring clubs and continuing playing games.
