On Wednesday evening last at Fethard Moyle Rovers minor hurlers opened their South championship campaign with a 2-18 to 2-8 win over Ballingarry.

We started brightly, settled by some excellent points from Alec Owens and at the interval were three points to the good, 1-8 to 1-5, our goal scored by full-forward Eoin O’Connor.

After half-time we strengthened our grip on proceedings with some great hurling from the likes of Luke Boland, Shane Lonergan, Ross Mulcahy and our second half goalscorer Stephen Quirke.

A feature of the game was some excellent point scoring from out the field.

With a few still to come back into the reckoning we will be hoping for more success at the championship progresses.

Best of luck Andrew

We wish Andrew Duncan all the best in his endeavours in the World Transplant Games which take place in Durban, South Africa from July 28 to August 4.
