Seven of All Ireland final team start for Tipperary

Only seven of the Tipperary team that started last September’s All Ireland hurling final against Kilkenny will start on Sunday when the teams meet again in the first round of the league at Nowlan Park.

Among the absentees are Lar Corbett, who has announced his withdrawal from the squad due to work commitments, and last year’s captain Eoin Kelly. Darren Gleeson comes into goal in place of Brendan Cummins,

The team features two league debutants, Donagh Maher (Burgess) at corner back and Adrian Ryan (Templederry Kenyons) at wing forward. Donagh is brother of wing back Shane Maher and Adrian is first cousin of the other wing forward, Gearoid Ryan
