Kilsheelan Kilcash 4-13 Ballingarry 1-9

In the Quirkes Jewellers South Junior Hurling A second Semi Final, Kilsheelan- Kilcash cruised to an easy victory in Clonmel on Sunday last with an impressive performance to beat Ballingarry.

Kilsheelan introduced county minor captain Bill Maher and Eoin Kehoe at the interval and with the Ryan brothers Tommy and Jimmy they over-ran the opposition.

Kilsheelan led from the start with a John Roche point from a free shortly followed by a point from play by John Kehoe with an immediate reply, a pointed free from Adrian Cleere for Ballingarry. Kilsheelan struck for their first goal from John Kehoe. Adrian Cleere had another point from a free before Patrick Larkin fired over a point that was shortly added by another scrappy goal from John Kehoe.

Brendan Ivors struck a sweet goal for Ballinigarry and added a point from play. John Roche converted a 65 to put Kilsheelan further ahead and this was followed by a Niall Walsh point for Ballingarry with Adrian Cleere adding one from a free only to see John Roche score from play a great point and William Ryan scored an excellent point.

Edmond Sweeney struck the killer blow to Ballingarry with a well taken goal just before the break with the final point of the half from an Adrian Cleere free to leave the half time score Kilsheelan 3-6 Ballingarry 1-5.

Ballinagrry were first to score in the second half from Alan Cooney from a 65. Niall Walsh got his second point from play with Kilsheelan’s reply a great run from Bill Maher who tapped the ball over the bar. Alan Cooney struck a long range free for Ballingarry to leave the score after 38 minutes 3-7 to 1-8 but this was the closest Ballingarry got to their opposition.

Kilsheelan went further ahead with a point from Eoin Kehoe followed within a minute with a wonderful goal from the other substitute Bill Maher. Alex Harte added a point from play to go 4-9 to 1-8 up.

In the closing minutes Kilsheelan added another five points to a single reply from Ballingarry.
